Description of the Talk
The lecture discusses the potential conflicts that may arise in the policymaking process for renewable energy, with a particular focus on state–industry relations. It will provide a brief background on EU legislation and governance structures, from the EU level to the member states. Moreover, as a case study, an example from Germany on solar energy policymaking, highlighting the actors involved in the decision-making process, namely the industry and state actors.
About the speaker
Yoana is a third-year PhD student in Politics, International Relations, and Environment at the University of York in the United Kingdom. She also serves as an EU Climate Pact Ambassador in Germany. With an academic and professional background in Business, Accounting, and Law, she has gained work experience in both government institutions and the private sector.
